SENCMPEU868

The TEKTELIC TUNDRA with Probe (SENCMPEU868-J) extends the standard TUNDRA cold chain sensor with an external temperature probe — enabling the main sensor body to remain outside the refrigeration unit while the M5-connected 1.5 m probe measures inside the chamber. This configuration improves LoRaWAN radio performance (no signal attenuation from metal walls) and extends battery life in deep-freeze applications. The sensor itself measures ambient temperature and humidity in its mounting location while the external probe measures the cold chamber temperature, providing dual-zone monitoring on a single device. Rugged IP67 enclosure, −40 to +70 °C operating range, 10-year battery life on a single C-cell LTC battery. Onboard data logging buffers readings during periods without LoRaWAN coverage. Ideal for HACCP compliance, pharmaceutical and vaccine storage, ultra-low temperature freezers, and any cold chain application requiring optimal RF performance.

When to choose the probe variant: Use this variant when the refrigeration chamber has metal walls that degrade LoRaWAN signal, when the chamber is too cold for prolonged battery operation (typically < −20 °C continuous), or when you need to monitor both the chamber and the surrounding ambient environment from a single device.
