The TEKTELIC KONA Macro (MICO1GEU868-J) is a hardened outdoor LoRaWAN gateway designed for wide-area network deployments where harsh environmental conditions and long-distance coverage are required. This Ethernet-only EU868 TDD variant supports the full range of LoRaWAN channels and connects to an external N-Type LoRa antenna (sold separately) for flexible installation across dense urban or rural environments. Built around a robust UL Type 6 / IP67 enclosure with primary lightning surge protection on all interfaces (DC, Ethernet and RF), it operates reliably from −40 to +60 °C including solar loading. Powered via PoE 802.3at Type 2 Class 4 or direct 48 VDC input, with 20 W maximum consumption. Internal GPS provides precise time synchronization and geolocation. Mounting bracket and hardware are supplied for pole or wall installation.

External LoRa antenna: A LoRa antenna with N-Type male connector is required for operation and is sold separately. Maximum antenna gain is 8 dBi for omnidirectional types.


Installation requirements: Professional installation by trained RF technicians is required. The gateway must be properly earth-grounded (¼″ two-hole lug) before any other interface is connected. Mounting structure must support a dead load of at least 136 kg.
