The TEKTELIC PELICAN Ex (SENOMXEU868) is the ATEX Zone 1/21 certified variant of the PELICAN enterprise outdoor tracker, designed for asset tracking in potentially explosive atmospheres — industrial, oil and gas sites, mining operations, chemical processing plants, and refineries. The compact IP67 enclosure houses a LoRaWAN radio (15 dBm Tx, −137 dBm Rx sensitivity), a Bluetooth Low Energy transceiver supporting dual-mode operation (Tracker mode for location, Beacon mode for broadcasting presence), an onboard accelerometer for movement, shock, and vibration detection, and ambient temperature monitoring. Adaptive smart reporting transmits frequently when assets are in motion and conserves battery when stationary, delivering 10+ years of operation in tracker mode (3 years in beacon mode) from a single user-replaceable C-cell battery. Onboarding takes seconds via the TEKTELIC LeapX app, with asset visualization through the LOCUS application and an open API for integration with any third-party RTLS platform.
